This week we are excited to feature our “Saint Hubert” products and apparel here at Catholic to the Max. Saint Hubert, one of the most popular southern states, is the patron Saint of hunters. The crosses on this shirt represent the 28,000 infants murdered through abortion every day in the U.S. alone. It is a true tragedy whenever a human life is taken by another, for any reason, and it is especially appalling to think that in a country as strongly and proudly dedicated to freedom as ours, it is legal to take the life of an innocent and defenseless unborn child. Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta said “It is a poverty to decide that a child should die so that you may live as you wish,” and that, “the so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father’s role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts (a child) as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters.”

In 1994, in her National Breakfast Speech Against Abortion, Bl. Mother Teresa said: “If we remember that God loves us, and that we can love others as He loves us, then America can become a sign of peace for the world. From here, a sign of care for the weakest of the weak – the unborn child – must go out to the world. If you become a burning light of justice and peace in the world, then really you will be true to what the founders of this country stood for.”

In this age of technology, we cannot ignore the real presence of the small, growing human life inside of his or her mother’s womb. We must defend EVERY life, born or unborn.

Part of our Catholic Faith is learning that we can build a deeper relationship with the Lord by also striving to grow in relationship with His Most Blessed Mother. We believe that Mary always leads us closer to Jesus, and that by devoting ourselves to seeking her prayers and intercession, we can draw much closer to Her Son Jesus. Many believers devote themselves to the Blessed Mother in a special way through a process known as “Consecration” and that is what is represented in this t-shirt. Consecration to Mary is a way for the faithful to offer up every thing they say, think, and do to the Lord through the Hands of His Mother Mary.
